I received my book from Book Depository and got stuck in right away
Excuse the chipped polish!! The book was good, the first 60-70 pages were a bit graphic, detailing Phillip Garrido's first offences against Jaycee Dugard. After that it did simmer down and was mainly to do with her day-to-day life... pets, children etc.
In my downtime at home I've been working on my ripple blanket. It's doubled it's size over the weekend, definitely works up fast!
One thing I'll tell you know about me and crochet... I don't do random colours. I'm very uniform with my patterns and stripe widths etc. This ripple will end on a dark brown (Walnut) so it starts and ends on the same colour. I'm not sure if I will do a border down the sides yet.
Anyway, today after work I got home to find my parcel from WEBS had arrived with my new fancypants ergonomic crochet hooks!
I like the theory behind them. The larger handle IS more comfortable to hold, but the handles are "flat". They'd be better if they were round. Also my 4.5mm has glue where the handle joins the hook which catches my yarn regularly. I think I might use my old faithful 4.5mm with the red handle (not pictured) for my general stuff but if I'm doing anything which requires a thinner yarn and smaller hook then I'll use one of these. They are "Knitters Pride" hooks, just FYI!
Right, must be time to curl up with my blanket and watch Desperate Housewives!
